HISTORY
Impulse Power started in 2017. As active recreational sailors and users of outboard engines of 5 - 10 hp, we wanted alternatives to the heavy 9.9 HP and frequent starting problems.
We searched for a reliable and trouble-free product. A product with low weight, which is simple to operate, without major maintenance needs, and not least easy to lift in and out of larger vessels. An outboard engine as a supplement to a larger boat should be run relatively short, but it must start - every time!
And
The search started and we quickly found out that there were few products that met all our requirements. We still chose to bring in an engine from Golden Motors. This is a major Chinese manufacturer with core competencies in engine design. Golden Motor has a range of engine products for bicycles, boat engines, wheelchairs and motorcycles. Impulse-Power AS is now an importer of all products for Golden Motors in Norway.
And
Furthermore, we searched for the market's best battery cells and systems that met our requirements: power, low weight and adapted to marine applications. Many LI IO batteries are available, but few 48 V systems are able to deliver enough power, over time and in a waterproof (IP67) container. We have therefore developed this ourselves as well. The collaboration is made with a European manufacturer and we are proud of our own battery packs. These are "state of the art" Nickel Manganese Cobalt cells with high energy density and low weight.

The company is run by Arne Johannessen, with extensive experience in the payment market, and Erik Skaarnæs, who has been responsible for purchasing batteries and engines in the electric car company Think, as well as working in Eker Design. We operate Impulse Power efficiently. We will deliver quality products without errors and problems, and be quick in response if an accident occurs.

We believe in electrification and that the shift has just begun. The use of electrified products should not have any disadvantages, on the contrary, it should be easier to use!
